The idea for this song began with a poem in a journal entry by Dan Fries (guitarist and co-author of a number of L'aura's songs, including Radio Star) in early 2003, in Sevilla, Spain. At the time, L'aura was struggling with the road to success, and Dan compared the elusive prize to dangling diamonds "just out of reach," penning what would later be translated into italian, becoming the chorus for this song.
