Jamie Lidell
On Tour1,669,708 plays (113,279 listeners)
Famed for his largely improvised shows, that see Jamie constructing his tracks live, voicing and layering right in front of your eyes, effortlessly whipping them out of the air and forging them into clanking electro riffs and deathprod funk grooves.
Likened to Sly Stone, Prince and Little Richard, he is Britain’s voice of soul for the new era.
Jamie is/was half of the Super_Collider project. He has also helped write and produce on the albums of Mocky, who in return drums in his live band.

My favourite is probably "Where D'you go?". Short, but brilliant. Also a big fan of "Multiply", "What's the use?", "don't let my feel good go away", "Another day" and "green light". He's like a White- version of Stevie Wonder. Brilliant.

I don't get CMG's review of "Jim". What on earth do you mean Jamie Lidell's not a good singer? If you're a guy and you try to sing along to these songs you'll soon realise that he has an impressive vocal range and a nice warmth to his voice. And also: "But, it’s just all a little bit meh, which is disappointing" is not an argument, nor does it give us any information. "Jim" is not setting anyone pants on fire, but when you're talking about pop albums, they don't get much better than this and even from a technical point of view (excellent production work, deceivingly clever compositions and an uncanny sense of song structure in each of these tracks) you just can't award this record with any lower than a 7. So there. :)

Gee, I never knew people like him existed in today's music. Check out what he said about Jim: "I'm not gonna hide behind smoke and mirrors anymore; this is my album to court radio and make heaps of fans; to show people like Robbie Williams that they don't have a clue." Thumbs up for Jamie.
