Grayson recorded this song in 1992 at The Power Station in New York, at the request of director Mario Van Peebles for his 1993 film "Posse". Though the song didn't end up in the movie, Grayson enjoyed adding this soul classic to his list of recorded works. Besides himself on lead vocals and Hammond B3 organ, his band included Cindy "Thumper" Rickmond on bass guitar, Vinnie Miranda on lead guitar and Conrad Vincent on drums. His producer, Arthur Baker, played a little trick on Grayson at the session. When Grayson finished recording his lead vocal Arthur said "Hey, come on in to the control room - somebody wants to say hi." Grayson walked in to meet none other than the author of the song himself - Reverend Al Green! It just so happened that the legendary soul singer was in the studio next door, recording something else. According to Grayson, Reverend Al was "very nice" and told him he liked the performance very much.
