His first solo album,’The Sky Is Too High’, was released in 1998 and has a very muted, uncommercial sound. ‘TSITH’ was followed by ‘The Golden D’ which features two covers of the band Mission of Burma and is considerably less folk-oriented than the last. The next album to come was ‘Crow Sit on Blood Tree’, which has some of his most ethereal tracks to date on, and is very lo-fi. Fourth album ‘The Kiss of Morning’ shows Graham developing as an artist in his own right and the songs take on a more fleshed out and accomplished form. However, it was not until the release of ‘
In 2006 Graham Coxon released his sixth solo album, ‘Love Travels at Illegal Speeds’, preceeded by the UK Top 20 single ‘
It marks Coxon’s first album away from his now-defunct indie label ‘Transcopic’.

I think I probably pissed off the majority of the crowd, drunkenly shouting out names of blur songs, when I went to see him live a few years back. I do love the coxon though

When he left, that pranging, urge toward a uniquely British Punk-ness left Blur completely. Think tank was a load of cobblers (bear in mind I love Blur, here). I think Graham's music is the most eloquent answer to the question of what kind of position he had in that band. A much needed counterpoint to Damon Albarn, is the answer. Meanwhile, yes, obviously, his solo records are uniformly wonderful. Purchase!

coxon sings totally out of tone sometimes... and strangely it sounds so sweet! but anyway, the kiss of morning is far better than happiness in magazines, less "blurish" maybe!

i think think tank was better than any of coxons.... happiness in magazines might be on par with it though. I'm gutted that he left after 13 (a different class to anything blur did...) though, blur could've really went places after that record.
