A band who have been around with for 12 years apparently & who I've heard of previously, have finally brought another album out, some 2 years after their last, this one being a collection of both new, rare & remixed songs which are quite outstanding. Standing fairly firmly in the electro-industrial genre. There's some very slick work here, from the opening track "Halloween", which is a brand new song which opens the album up, through to the closer "Hidden Track", which comes from way back in 1993, the earliest inclusions here coming from 1998. Girls Under Glass were founded in 1986 in Hamburg, Germany by Thomas Lücke (singer), Hauke Harms (electronics & keyboards) and Zaphor aka Volker Zacharias (guitars). Their debut album was recorded in 1987: Humus with Dark Star. For this record Dr. Fluch joined the band and played bass guitar. During 1989 Girls Under Glass supported bands such as Fields of the Nephilim, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and were just big stars in the German gothic-wave-scene.
