Evergreen was a sort of Louisville supergroup anchored on the riff-laden guitar of Tim Ruth, with an earlier incarnation that featured Dave Pollard on lead vocals. The lineup that released Evergreen in 1996 added drummer Britt Walford, and vocalist Sean McLoughlin, resulted in a hybrid of Slint affects (Glass Highway), Stonesy vamping, and post-hardcore 1990s aesthetics.
