"Shame" is the debut single of R&B singer Evelyn "Champagne" King. King included the song in her 1977 album, Smooth Talk. "Shame" was successful on multiple U.S. Billboard music charts and would become one of King's signature songs. It reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, #7 on the Soul charts, and #8 on the Disco Action/Dance charts. The song was covered by Zhané for the 1994 film A Low Down Dirty Shame.
