Prepare Your Spirit was originally released in 1992 as a cassette and was never commercially available (copies were sold at gigs and via mail-order). In 2000 due to huge demand from the band's fan base, the long deleted album was finally given a proper release on double CD with new cover art and four previously unreleased tracks (the last 2 tracks on each CD) increasing the number of tracks on the album to 19.

Eat Static is Merv Pepler, an electronic music project from England, UK formed in 1990. Joie Hinton left the group in February 2008 after 18 years to spend more time with his family. Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton met as drummer and keyboard player (respectively) for the Ozric Tentacles, a long-standing psychedelic "space-rock" band from Somerset.
