Dudu Nobre começou na música aos 5 anos, quando ganhou um cavaquinho velho de um porteiro do prédio onde morava, em Vila Isabel. Afilhado do baterista Wilson das Neves, Dudu começou a aprender a tocar instrumentos de percussão durante batucadas com a garotada de Padre Miguel e sob o olhar do mestre Jorjão. Com Henrique Cazes, aprendeu cavaquinho. Os pais, Anita e João Nobre, pagodeiros de primeira, adoravam reunir os amigos em casa, para uma batucada.
