Rocketing forth with endless momentum, “Whammy” continues the heavy sounds and aggressive themes that dominate this album. The instrumentals are characterized by an unintelligible looping vocal, an unrelentingly bouncy bassline, sharp drum beats, speedy, egg shaker-esque auxiliary percussion, and what sounds like strange, plinky organ samples. All the while, MC Ride spits the titular word in staggered, infectious snippets, interrupted only by verses full of his usual threatening attitude and subtle worldplay.
