"Heavy Ghost" is a 2008 album by American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist DM Stith. He spent a year writing, arranging and recording, performing nearly all of the music on Heavy Ghost, and he created the album’s artwork. The album combines narrative of self-discovery with rich orchestration. DM Stith (born David Michael Stith in Buffalo, NY, on 24 June 1980) is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who released his first album Heavy Ghost in 2009 on the Asthmatic Kitty label. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Stith comes from a musical family: his father is a college wind ensemble director and former church choir director; his grandfather is professor emeritus in the music department at Cornell University; his mother is a pianist; his sisters sing opera, play piano, tap dance, play timpani and are excellent soft ball players.
