their last great album. Viva La Vida is still tolerable - it's the transition between Coldplay and that other pop band they made with the same name.

My first coldplay album. I don't care what the others say, it has a special place in my heart :)

This album is so odd. All the songs are good. But something is just... off.... it dosent have the magic of the first two or its follow up.

For some reason I always thought "Speed of Sound" was the most popular song from this album. Definitely the single I prefer.

This is the album I got introduced to them with, and is still my favorite because obvious nostalgia bias.

There's something magical and universal about X&Y for me. This was their transition phase, when they peaked, going from soft alternative to catchy pop. It combines the subdued, reticent and enigmatic Coldplay with the more energetic, fun one we hear now. That balance is their center, perfectly expressed on this album, in both the lyrics and the music.
