The single was released on 12 August, 2016, the same day as the album was officially announced and premiered live, in full, at the Eaux Claires Music and Arts Festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, co-curated by Bon Iver’s founder and leader, Justin Vernon.

Bon Iver is a Grammy Award winning folk band from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, United States, and one of Justin Vernon's current and most notable music projects to date.
