Born in Rio de Janeiro, Billynho Blanco was brought up in the midst of Bossa Nova, in the 1960s. At three years of age he began singing with his father, Billy Blanco Sr., himself a long time partner of Tom Jobim and Baden Powell, and one of the forefathers of the Bossa Nova movement.
