"Effington" was originally as an impromptu song Ben Folds performed on April 2, 2007, at Braden Auditorium, which is on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. It was introduced to the crowd as "Mother-effing Effingham." Though most of the final product is not what was performed that night, some of the original still remains.
