"Baby Blue" made an appearance in Martin Scorsese's 2006 Oscar-winning film, The Departed. The song also appeared in the US drama series Breaking Bad, where it was played during the closing scene of the show's final episode. Vince Gilligan, the show's creator, implied on Talking Bad that it represented Walter White's love of his own creation, the blue meth. Following the song's use in the hit show, streams online increased in popularity exponentially almost immediately following the broadcast.
