“Dreams Tonite” seems to be about having so much love and caring for someone, but the relationship you had has fallen apart. This is quite obvious by the pre-chorus' lines “who starts a fire just to let it go out” and “who builds a wall just to let it fall down.” The track is notable for the line “antisocialites watch a wilting flower” – which is where the title of ALVVAYS' sophomore album (which the track is featured on) was taken from.
