It was recorded from March to June 1986 at Morrisound Recording Studios in Tampa, Florida, and digitally mastered in July 1986 at Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida. Combat Records released the album in March 1987. The Mad Locust Rising EP is included on the Century Media Records release from 1999, although the cover version of the Judas Priest song "The Ripper" is missing on certain subsequent reissues. Agent Steel is a speed metal band from Los Angeles, California that was formed in 1984 by singer John Cyriis and drummer Chuck Profus. The band released two full length albums and one EP before ending in 1988.
