It was the first AKB48's single to top the Oricon weekly singles chart, having sold 179,000 copies in its first week. Thus it became the group's best selling single, beating "Namida Surprise!", which by then had sold 144,000 copies in 18 weeks.

AKB48 is an all-female Japanese theater/idol group. As of January 31, 2021, the group consists of 98 members, divided among several teams: Team A with 20 members, Team K with 20 members, Team B with 21 members, and Team 4 with 25 members, Team 8 with 42 members, the last of which have 30 members serving concurrently with other AKB48 teams. Unlike other idol groups in Japan, AKB48 are theatre-based and have their own theatre in Akihabara, Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan where they perform once every weekday, and twice on both Saturday and Sunday.
