台灣出生，小學畢業後到美國讀書，大學就讀加州大學爾灣分校心理學系；大四時，向學校申請到國立台灣大學心理系當交換學生，因此再度回台，在到處旁聽、考慮之下，決定參加吉他社。1997年與友善的狗簽約，開始為廣告寫歌，並在1998年發行個人第一張正式專輯「賞味期限」，並入圍金曲獎最佳新人獎，但最後並未獲獎。 2001年發行第二張專輯「黃小楨2」後，已經很少出現在螢光幕前，並在Hit FM擔任廣播主持人。偶在合輯裡有個人作品、音樂祭裡有表演。 2009年4月，因故離開Hit FM「Retro DJ」職務，原時段改由她的好友何欣穗主持。 2011年在台北夢想音樂節表演，也有限量600張的DEMO，這是近來第一張以她個人名義推出的作品。 View wiki
