According to the promoters (received by email from TicketWeb):

“We are improving on all areas:* There will be a significant increase in toilets and urinals across the site.

* There will be three times the amount of draft bars, a spirits/cocktail bar, three separate rapid can bars and various other bespoke bars serving cider and Pimms. There will also be
free water provided with two tap points.

* The site has been re-designed using sound experts Vanguardia with new stage

So disappointing. I think Modeselektor were one of the highlights for me personally, but they had to cut their set short because of technical difficulties. Matters weren't helped by the shitty weather and thus having to smoke in the rain. Then learning Dan Deacon had cancelled put me in a foul mood. Still it was amusing watching the security battle with the itinerant urinators, and finally giving up as the day went on.

I didn't get to go but I read a post mortem for the event (here: http://www.spoonfed.co.uk/spooners/domzig-172/field-day-409/) and it sounded like it was just miserable. I can't even imagine it being enjoyable even with such an amazing lineup. Did anyone have a good time??

i enjoyed it enough to go again, for the money it's not too bad (although some signposting for us pure confused country bumpkin non-london residents etc would have been nice.... !). very similar to indian summer in glasgow, but that got shut down because of some mongs, hope the same fate doesn't befall this!

broke my tiny heart to see dan deacon's name crossed out when i got there :( the mae shi were excellent though, foals / the notwist / les savy fav were all great too... one of the problems was that people were using the tent to shelter from the rain, so they looked rammed but actually it was just the outer ring that was really busy, once you got through that then you could get a good spot! kudos to the couple in front of me who were doing r&b usher-style dancing to foals, that made my day!

You'll be back ;) Next year you will see the lineup and be like "ohh ohh, i want to see them, and them and them!" and you'l shell out that measly £30 with hope that the event has improved. And you know it!

I danced my ass off at modeselektor, but it was on pure willpower, 'cause I could barely hear anything. So it's not very strange that "posers" were standing around with their hands in their pockets, because you really had to KNOW the tracks to get a feel for them. I'll never go back to Field Day, this was just too weak. I've been to a lot of festivals, and this was by far the poorest organized. That it was better than last year is no redemption. It just means last year was utter shit.

Benga was last on in the Blogger Tent, I was going to see him but you really need a huge bassy soundsystem for Dubstep to work.

I thought it was an OK day, the weather was against the promoters, but to be fair not as great as it could have been. again the toilet queues were horrendous. the sound was not the best, the main sticking point for me would be lack of signs for the toilets (as mentioned prev) and around the actual site as well as from the stations and through the park. walking through an industrial estate and over a flyover alone as a girl is not much fun if you are not sure you are going in the right direction. the programme was also really hard to read, should have been split into time slots and have better colour font and background to make it easier to read in the rain or a dark tent. I'll wait and see what happens next year, hopefully the sun will improve the vibe a lot! however great food and drinks reasonably priced also the Amersham tent did not sell cider - its a festival!

Think it was a lot better organised than last year. Weather and the delays pretty much ruined it for me though. One last chance Field Day. I want to love you, but you keep on fucking me over.

It wasn't THAT bad. An improvement on certain areas compared to last year. It's just a pity that all the acts I wanted to see I had already seen before. I bought the tickets for Dirty Projectors, Cut Copy, and El Guincho. Who sadly all cancelled. Still, if the weather was nice it would of been a good day out. Sound issues, well, yeah, its a festival.
