Honeydrips were the exception in a year of few good albums. Micke has the best voice of Sweden, the release on Sincerely Yours were logical due to his sound transformed from Jesus and Mary Chain-covers to something of the future. If the future will se no more albums, then Here comes the future were the last big pop album.
3. Cats on Fire (gig)
The finnish poppers are a very good live band, maybe one of the best I've seen. Cats On Fire made the best show at popfestival Rip it up, challenged by 2007 favourites Days and Sarah Records legends St Christopher.
4. Rip it up (festival)
Problems with sound can turns into DIY-cred and is forgiven, while Dan Tracey and his performance are not. But Rip it up were the best that happened when swedish summer failed 2007. Cheap, tiny and charming and a line up of your favorite bands Rip it up had all you could wish for. Thank you, Johan and Fredrik!
5. Days (band)
We are still waiting for the release, on classic Shelflife and lovely new of the year Lavender. Days made a great show at Rip it up, and I love their fantastic pop songs, available on MySpace, that refers to everything I love with pop and at the same time sound like their own. Simply the best band of 2007.
