Description

Dead Young & The Angels Share present:

A REEL GOOD TIME

Reel to Reel was created as a means of communication in WWII and developed by Bing Crosby to record his radio shows, made popular through recording artists, particularly the experimental kind including The Beatles, Delia Derbyshire, Jimi Hendrix & Frank Zappa used the durability and edit ability to create masterpieces previously unimaginable, in the spirit of that tradition we bring you...

NAPOLEON IIIrd
Leeds based one-man pop machine and his reel to reel, in the tradition of his predecessors Napoleon conducts live experiments rather than shows, an absolute pleasure to have him back to the Angel’s Share for a rare and truly extraordinary performance. If you don’t believe me, listen to these heavyweights...
"One of the most visionary artists in the world today" - Drowned In Sound
"This deposed despot is a wonder from Leeds... he regularly plays gigs with a freestanding guitar which explodes into light… wonderful." -NME
"Schmooze For Me is the finest tune to rail against the daily grind since, well, 9 To 5." - Guardian

THE TITLE SEQUENCE
2 men and a real to real, no it’s not a kooky family comedy, more like Kings of Convenience meets James Yuill. They’re a relatively new outfit but have already been played on radio by hip DJs as varied as Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens, Chris Coco and Tom Robinson these London boys are apparently making some serious waves down there, we welcome their premier Leeds excursion.

THE FRENCH DEFENCE
Blissful indie pop from one man song crafter who recently supported Darren Hayman, beautiful music which he describes as somewhere between work and sleep, the best of places.
"Even the hardest of hearts cannot deny the quality of the song writing, and ultimately you will surrender." - Leeds Music Scene

LIAM O'DONNELL
Lucky bugger, blessed with a voice akin to Finley Quaye and some quick fingers to match, no wonder this chap has already been asked to play with The Kooks and had an MTV Session, you’d think karma would even things up by him looking like an extra from Lord of the Rings, but no, he’s a god damn daytime TV friendly dreamboat!

DAVID HENSHAW
Always a pleasure to welcome back the enigma that is Mr David Henshaw , a normal young lad when first encountered but then he starts singing and everyone starts listening. The simplicity of his songwriting matched with a vocal magnitude the likes of only Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver can match creates something irresistible.
